The event, led by Karoline Lewis, took place February 4 at St. John the Evangelist Episcopal Church in St. Paul.
From The Rev. Debbie Dehler:
ST. PAUL, Minn. – The fireside room at St. John the Evangelist in St. Paul was filled with the abundant love of God when 25 clergy gathered for the 2016 Pre-Lenten Clergy Retreat on February 4. Led by Karoline Lewis, the group spent time Dwelling in the Word and Dwelling in the World of the Gospel of John.
Throughout her presentation, Karoline provided preach-able moments in as little as a verse or as much as a chapter, reminding us that preaching is an invitation to “Come and See” Jesus. It is an opportunity to provide witness to the abundant blessings received when in relationship with God.
Joining in worship and prayer, in scripture and fellowship, clergy were reminded that Jesus Christ brought us undeserved kindness and truth – grace upon grace (John 1:16), that each of us is beloved (John 3:16-17) and that we are called to bring others into relationship with God through our own witness (John 14:12).
